Shakayra is the founder and organizer of the worldwide sisterhood movement; The Mixed Girl Meetup which monthly takes place in various cities in the world. She recently wrote a book all about the mixed experience titled 'But where are you really from' . Her passion for bringing females of mixed heritage together came from a challenging upbringing, regularly being seen as the outsider and never quite knowing where to fit in. Shakayra believes that sharing your story helps to heal and forms more meaningful relationships.

WHAT IS THE MIXED GIRL MEET UP.
Mixed Girl Meetup is a unique safe space for females of two or more ethnicities/heritages to come together and share some of their experiences and vent about anything in relation to being mixed.
At it’s core MGM prides itself in being a place of healing where you can just be yourself, are respected and never patronised, met with love, empathy & support and most importantly a place where you can finally feel at home and make friends with people who are just like you.
The virtual Global Mixed Experience is an online worldwide summit which travels to various countries in the world and features speakers who are positively contributing to their community. Each speaker shares some of their story of what being mixed meant to them and if their heritage had any impact on their career or social life.
